Kaya nga yung lyrics ng the First Noel eh isang stupidong lyrics
“The First Noel,
the Angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter’s night that was so deep
This is the job for Bro Eli Soriano. Ask Bro Eli and the Bible will answer. You may ask him thru this twitter link.
i do agree. I mean I am a member of Iglesia ni cristo and we dont celebrate Christmas for the reason of this post. haha You've written everything here correclty there's more I can say! xx
I have a very different opinion on this.. actually, I really don't care whether it was on Dec 25 or not.. as long as we celebrate it and remember that He was born, I think that is enough..
I think it was timed at December 25 for familiarity by timing it to previous practices before. Like everything religion is evolving and what's important is not the date but that we take time to appreciate the Jesus was born to influence mankind.
Hindi rin ako nag-ce-celebrate ng Christmas actually pero I attend family gatherings on December 24 to 25 kasi yung lang yung time na lahat ng relatives eh nagkakasama-sama dahil nga walang pasok sa trabaho and school. Reunion yun para sa amin.
My family is a firm believer of chirstmas. And I am too. But I completely respect those who have doubts and do not celebate it all. Christmas can be everyday anyway.
It's a fact that the date of Jesus' birth is unknown. But celebrating it on December 25 which is the time for the pagan celebration is a way of converting the pagans, timing it with the existing pagan celebration is a way of penetrating into the pagan world. You can research deeper about this. =)
The date does not matter. What is important that there is a date that we should remember God's love to mankind. For God so love the world that He gave his only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16. Of course, sabi nga nila sana araw-araw may maging pasko lagi. In addition, it's also something cultural or traditional, that families / friends get together on this special day. Of course, it's getting a bit commercial but that's people just being entrepreneurial. I won't bother arguing with the date. Whatever that date is we call it Christmas.
I agree with Ted and Traveling Morion's comments and I also respect the belief of others about Christmas. I just glad my family and friends get to celebrate the important day and I know that love prevails to mankind every time :)
wow.. this is a nice post, really.. in my point of view.. if the birthdate of Jesus is wrong, well. tanggapin na lang. kase yun yung nakasanayan. basta we are all glad for Jesus came into us to save us. diba. merry christmas!
I've read about this a very long time ago. Doesn't really matter. What matters most is that we still have a strong conviction towards our faith and the way we treat the people around us. :) Merry Christmas!
We know for a fact that Christmas day started way back in the pagan celebration and the Catholic church has a big part on it.We may have different belief and culture pero ,we celebrated this for different reason .
I believe that there's someone BIGGER than the universe... HE's the Supreme Being.

It is nice to know some researched article para mailagay sa library ko. :D
TumugonBurahinI'm a Roman Catholic but just like Jerwel, I'm open minded to arguments like this.
TumugonBurahinI don't mind celebrating Christmas and having the usual traditions although some of the points you wrote here are quite true.

TumugonBurahinThese are nice-to-know things and I agree that it in not on the date we celebrate His birth but how we live our lives as his followers! :)

BurahinMy family is a firm believer of chirstmas. And I am too. But I completely respect those who have doubts and do not celebate it all. Christmas can be everyday anyway.
TumugonBurahinIt is not all about the date but the essence of Christmas season is what matters most.
TumugonBurahinDate doesn't matter, its the faith that counts.

TumugonBurahinThe essence is important. We can't just abandon the celebration because we don't know the date. God won't probably mind celebrating his birth day.
